The Highlander’s Welsh Bride
(Book 5 in the Hardy Heroines Series)
By Cathy and DD MacRae
Prince Llywelyn is dead and his soldiers are fleeing before king Edward’s army. Carys, a distant cousin to the prince, herself a princess of Wales, was fighting along side her husband. Now just over a year later she finds herself homeless and widowed. She looks for somewhere to call home in the north, far away from the reach of King Edward’s men. Wales will never be the same again for Carys.
Birk MacLean has been ordered to take a bride and produce an heir by the council. He’s tired of the girls and Ladies that are brought before him, all women if delicate nature and selfish motives. He wants a wife strong enough to help in leading one of the most powerful clans in Western Scotland. One like the Welsh woman that he has arrested for poaching deer on MacLean land.
Can Birk convince Carys that a marriage to him will be better then the hangman’s noose? And will the hotheaded Scot be good enough for a Princess of Wales?
Cathy and DD MacRea are an incredibly talented duo that never cease to amaze me. This story is rich with History, bloodlust, anger, and love. The main characters had a chemistry that sizzled and jumped right off the pages. The flow of the story was wonderful and there was never a dull moment. This was wonderful book and I can’t wait to see what they write next.
